With Microsoft launching revamped versions of their slate computer next month on the form of the Surface 2 and Surface 2 Pro, the latest question to arise in the tablet rumour mill is where Apple stands on the matter of hybrid tablet/slate computing.
As it stands now, there are a number of after-market enhancements available for the iPad that would allow the device to be used more like a slate computer with the availability of various styles of keyboards and cases. Even with the newer iPads offering 128 GB of storage, the question is whether the iPad really fills the niche that Microsoft is aiming at with the Surface line.
